If you live in an apartment with a shared laundry and people always leave their clothes in the machines, what should you do?

There is even a sign posted asking people to remove their laundry when it is finished. This is especially bothersome on the weekends because everyone only has a limited amount of time to do their laundry.

If the building has a care taker you can start by informing him/her. You could also consider talking to whoever leaves their clothes. You could also remove them from the driers and place them in a basket or on top of the drier.

It does not have a front office and if you throw dirt on people's clothes they can key your car...but thanks.

Thats also criminal, keying your car, i'd still throw the laundry on the floor

I agree it would be criminal to key my car but I have seen it on television many times and it is very difficult to prove. I can't afford to take the chance.

The protocol is to remove them and place them on top of one of the dryers.

That is what I am about to do. The machine is full of underwear, but they have been in there all night and I can't wait all weekend.

Go for it. As long as you're not damaging them you have every right.

That's a pain. I would speak to the manager and leave a note on the wall. You could take the stuff out, do yours, put it back in, they probably won't be back for awhile.

I just hate to touch other people's laundry, apparently they don't seem to mind at all, or they would check on theirs more frequently.

I know Scott! I agree, but you can't wait all weekend for them to come back. It's inconsiderate of them.

Move their clothes to a basket or the folding table
