Any event like this affecting the nation is bound to have an influence on a national election. Some will claim Obama as a hero even though he's just pulling same pursestrings any president would do in the same situation. Some voters may be too preoccupied to get to the polls. The governors have the real task of getting things back to normal. Obama will use the storm destruction to boost his claim for Federal gov't duty and ability to take care of all our needs.
Absolutely, with no power for millions and millions for an expected seven days, this could impact people's ability to get somewhere with power to vote, and not only that, you need to vote in your registered district. We could very well see history by the election getting pushed back until the east coast can join in for their rights to vote.
It will because sandy washed away a lot of the voters and the candidates can use that to there advantage by saying " I will help those who need it A.K.A the houses sandy destroyed and give them shelter, food, love, care and compation"
Yes. What I feel was going to be a solid victory for Romney is now going to be a close victory for Romney. Obama is lucky he doesn't have to continue attaching Romney character for few days. Because these attacks were not working. They have now been replaced by a positive appearance of him supporting FEMA and the citizens. I hope he loses big but I'll be happy if he just loses and gets out of the way!!
Yes, because it will focus more attention on the issue of climate change. Both candidates have ignored this in their campaigns until now, but Sandy has been a cold slap in the face for everyone. Of the two, Romney will suck up to coal and oil, and Obama at least has some track record to run on. 54 mpg by 2025 is a start.
As any president would be doing in a situation ( like Sandy) He is only trying to get re-elected with all his media ploy. He might be a little sincere ( at times,) but he is not to be trusted to lead this country for four more years. He is NOTt a leader. His track record says it. I wish his followers would go to a socialist country and live for a while. God Bless America if he gets elected.
Unfortunately, some folks dealing with the storm aftermath will still not be able to vote by Tuesday in NY and NJ. It will not have an effect on the election because those electoral votes will still go to Obama in those states as predicted. However, the details being revealed about leaving our servicemen and women vulnerable in Benghazi despite their requests for help and the lies told during those events will have an impact.
