What is the geological process that is responsible for the formation of the Great Basin.

Report as

Most of the world's basin along with range areas is a direct consequence of their fundamental geology, most particularly crustal extensions. These are also frequently known as rifts and are caused in regions where the lithosphere and the Earth's crust are being pulled separately by crustal movement.
