I will answer with these lyrics: Because I have been given much I too must give Because of thy great bounty Lord Each day I live I shall divide my gifts from thee With every brother that I see Who has the need of help from me. Because I have been sheltered, fed By thy good care I cannot see another's lack and I not share My glowing fire, my loaf of bread, my roof safe shelter overhead That he too, may be comforted. Because I have been blessed by thy great love dear Lord I'll share thy love again According to thy word I shall give love to those in need I'll show that love by word and deed Thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.
I believe that we are here because we have lessons to learn, and things to do to help each other with their lessons. Ultimately, we are here to demonstrate what God is, since we are created in His image and likeness. We are "witnesses" to what God is. Some take longer to learn their lessons than others, though.
We can walk through life and do nothing, ignore everyday life situations,or we can make a difference in life,by being good role models, doing what is right, protect those people that are being abused by others,If I could turn back time, there was this boy in school that was always being picked on by others,I did not pick on him,but I also did not stick up for him like a Christian should have, and when he commited suicide,I felt his pain, knowing that I should of helped him,for he had a terrible life at home and at school,if only I could go back in time and do things differently, maybe Joe would not of killed himself. One person can make a big difference in the world be a leader not a follower. God Bless Debbie
In the beginning of mankind's history the purpose of man living upon the earth is found at Genesis 1:28-29. There it says that people should fill the earth with other people. They should have in subjection the animals of the earth. God said that the earth would produce food for them to eat.
They were to live happy lives. Unlike many who struggle with happiness today. In those time's it was said that those that would be happy are those conscious of their spiritual need (Matthew 5:3). If more people looked today for this need.....more people would be happy. Today people complicate their life and forget about God. God has not changed his purpose for mankind because God cannot change (Malachi 3:6).
The funny thing about life is it is actually much more simple and uncomplicated than we make it. All we need to do is one thing to be happy and that is put our spirituality before anything else (Matthew 6:33). If we do this we will succeed and lead happy lives.
The meaning of life is to know, love, and serve God (Jn 17:3; Sir 1:11-12; Catechism 356, 357, 1721). This is where we will find our fulfillment here on earth and in heaven. Love is the underlying theme throughout the Bible (1 Jn 4:8; Jn 3:16). In fact, there are more than six hundred verses in Scripture that speak explicitly of love. To begin, the creation of human beings was an act of unselfish love by God. He did not need to because He is perfect and needs nothing. But He created us because He knew we would like it. This was an act of love. God exhibited the ultimate act of love when He gave His only Son as the definitive sacrifice to save the world from its sins (Jn 3:16). The Son, Jesus Christ, gave His own life for us when He died on the cross. We are called to this type of unselfish love. Love is most fully expressed when we give ourselves with no interest in gaining something from it. Love is wanting what is best for another simply because it is best for that person! Love is the greatest of virtues. Love is the opposite of selfishness. Love truly makes the world a better place. Without love, we have only emptiness. (My answer continues in the comments)
