Make a list. I do a list of what needs to happen in each room and keep it handy in a pocket, so I can refer to it as needed. For example: I may need to vacuum several rooms, so I vacuum and cross it off in each room as I go. A feeling of accomplishment as you cross more and more items off your list can be obtained. Plus, putting on some energizing music can help you "feel the beat". Good Luck!
Set a time like; in 20min i want all the trash to be gone. get a trash can and through it in there with out reading it. Listen to music (loud) and dance while you do it (makes the time go by so you don't stress) repeat and do the same with clothes and ect.
Set goals for yourself and make a list. This helps you focus on the job and makes it seem like it’s easy and doable. If it’s you just flat out getting tired and sleepy then do occasional breaks like I’m going to clean my room for 30 then I’m going to tack a five min break. Also don’t do it without music or a radio going it helps you mind association cleaning your room with a song or the radio so in the future you can flip on that song and kick it into gear and knock out your chores. It helps trust me.
Set a time and put music on, then pretend you have someone coming over and after the time is up the person will come. You probably do not want someone walking into a messy room, so you will probably want to get the cleaning done in that time.
Talk yourself through it. Imagine your describing to a small child how to do each task, or that your doing a dance routine. Turn on some music, and dance around the place, imagine your on a 'how to clean' show, or pretend your a knight fighting dirt.
