Im worried about my daughter read below
follow me! if you want! ill follow you back

my daughter weighs 145 lb and she 5 feet talland 11 help how do i keep her from eating and lose weight?

Report as

I'm 5'8 and weigh 160. My BMI is 24.3, which is healthy. Stop trying to live your life through your daughters. Try being a real mom and tell her that no matter what she's beautiful, because no matter what, she is. And you know what? One day she'll resent you.

No, I'm not saying this because I'm self conscious. I was under weight, and now I'm healthy. I work out on a regular basis, I still have my problem areas but I know I'm beautiful.

Go talk to a doctor . It's kinda normal. How old is she ? If she is in middle school. That's normal . Same for high school .

Your daughter doesn't even need to lose weight. She's fine.

really why?

Why not? For what you told us she has a nice height, and good weight. Just feed her better. More veggies, cook at home lol

Hey, if she is that tall and she weights that much, she is only 10lbs over her normal weight. If you really want to help your daughter, give her good self steam, don't be nagging her or telling her that she is fat, she is in a healthy weight.

I thought 145 was normal weight for someone whose 5'7"... I believe the mom should leave the kid alone but just out of curiosity, is 135 normal for 11 years old?

First off, she is not ooovveerweight, bit chubby maybe. But she is fine.
Second, feed her better. No sodas, not many candies (we still need candies once in a while), and cook more at home. No alcohol, and aaallooottt of water.
Smaller foods, but add snacks between breakfast, lunch, dinner. Good snacks, like a salad, apple, mango, orange, fruits.... O cereal without milk, a cracker. That is to keep her metabolism working and burning the fat.
Tell her to join a sport or something that she enjoys. Dont force her, or give her any reasons like weight loss. Just be more active and tell her to choose whatever she will enjoy.

Hope i helped. As a mom... Just feed her better at the house.
Your food is her weight.

Try to keep healthy snacks in the house and fresh fruit. You could also go for walks with her. She is not terribly over weight and it's very common for a girl that age to put on a little weight before she starts her period. Then all that "baby fat" will shift to other areas. I know as a mom you want her to be healthy and happy but don't worry too much!!!!

-Pack her lunch
-When you make dinner cut out the carbs
-If you want to give her a sandwich make it a wrap

Talk to her doctor if you feel she's overweight and most definitely DONT tell her that you think she's overweight and that can cause eating disorders. Just tell her that you love her and she's beautiful no madder what because if you don't think she's beautiful then I don't know what to say to you.

I'm thinking there is no way she can even look like she needs to lose weight. You said she is 145 lbs and 5'11", I am only around 5' 7" and weigh 140. I would like to lose some but don't consider myself overweight. You said she is 11, she is still young and should be active. The best you could do is lead by example, I got hooked on chocolate when I was young because of my mom's love for chocolate. Exercise and eat healthy with her.

I can understand that you might be concerned that your daughter might become fat, but please understand that people in the US have a really unrealistic idea of what a woman should look like. So many girls and women today are unhealthily UNDERweight that they look like concentration-camp survivors! A woman is supposed to have some padding, some curves, for goodness sake! In the 1950s Marilyn Monroe was the ideal woman; today, she would be considered to be fat! That's just so wrong. Do you know that, if a woman doesn't have enough body fat, she will stop menstruating? It's true. Instead of trying to put your lovely daughter on a diet, just make sure that she (and the rest of your family) are eating a balanced, healthy diet, with lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, small amounts of lean proteins, fat-free and non-fat dairy, and limit fast food and junk food, and everyone will be healthier and happier. For advice on how to go about this, go to www.choosemyplate.gov --there is no membership fee to use the site, it's offered by the United States Department of Agriculture. Its an excellent site where you can download recipes, tracking charts, and a host of other great aids in helping your family to eat better. It's one example of our tax dollars going to work for a very good purpose.

She's fine. But if you're adamant about bringing your child's self esteem down, take a toll on your own to be fair. Work out with her and eat her diet.

Im 5 foot 11 and weight less then 130lbs. Although im very slim I eat healthy. You can't always control weight especially at a young age i learned. You can moderate her diet slightly but not to drastically, try to keep her away from to much red meats or general junk food and pop, just make sure she gets enough protean though. She isnt over weight in any means just make sure she doesnt get self conscious by you trying to help and completely stop eating or develope an eating disorder because young girls are very pron to that. Hope this helped I have a lot of exspirece with weight problems.
