When opening a new hotel, why should NOT an executive housekeeper be involved in the decorating phase of the hotel?

This was a voting we had in the class today...I was surprised that 100% of the class had voted that an executive housekeeper SHOULD be involved...I just really want to know if anyone that is already in the industry can provide me some reasons why they SHOULD NOT be involved. All I can think of is only that they might be lack of knowledge when it comes to decorating...

Well, I think they should be involved and I think in the bigger chains all department heads have an imput as to the design of the rooms. But I can't really think of a reason they should not.

the other one that I can think of is probably that if they do involved, they may tend to giving out suggestions or recommendations in a way that make their job easier and loss the focus on actually "decorating" the hotel.

Yes, but it's to the hotels advantage to have a room that's easy to clean. Less man hours to do the work. Also housekeepers should know what fabrics are easiest to clean, for example, a housekeeper wouldn't want velvet bedspreads.
