Have people crack jokes like me! Ok ok so this guy goes to his doctor. Doc says "I got bad news and I got worse for you". Guy says "oh great what's the bad news"? Doc says "you got 24 hours to live". Guys says "well then what's the worse news cause that's pretty bad"!?! Doc says ".....I forgot to call you yesterday and tell you that.....". Hahaha I love that one!!

Depression happens because your hormones are out of balance, especially at your age. Find a Naturopath or Homeopath and discuss your miseries. It's important to find a health professional you are happy with and patience is important, because you need to give treatment enough time to work properly. St. John's wort capsules three times daily helps, but don't use these if you're taking any doctor’s medications. Inhale Lavender & Rosewood essential oils whenever you feel low. Drugs do NOT cure depression and may make everything worse. Exercise is a wonderful stress relaxer, especially aerobic exercise like a regular brisk walk or swimming. This releases endorphins (“feel-good” hormones) to raise your mood.

Low self-esteem is the most common cause of depression. See my extra notes in "Comments" on how to deal with this

do something for someone else and dont expect anything in return and dont tell others what
you did for that person it is such a good feeling you will want to do it again and again

Tell yourself your no upset about what is making you feel that way. Change your mood yourself you dont have to wait for someone else to change it. Also make sure your organized studies show the more organized you are the better you feel. Find other company its not always the best being by yourself and sad. Turn on the radio to the music you like hang out with someone that always makes you smile and know THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

watch your favorite tv series on your ipod.thats what i do and its a really happy show.but if your fave show is depressing then watch funny stuff on youtube.like smosh and tobygames.also you can watch try not to laugh or grin

To be out of a depressing mood?
Well, just forget everything that happened. Pretend nothings wrong.
Be yourself, live your life. Do some things that make you happy.
Stuff you haven't done in awhile.

Listen to music that pumps you up. Encourage yourself that you are an amazing person, and that you are beautiful inside and out.

Some people just have depression some people needs medication for it. i have been depress for a long time.. Try music that's my escape from life (gotta have my rock music), used to be drugs but don't do that. talk to someone, write n a journal, think positive try not to think negative easier sad then done i know. i had trouble with that myself.

If it's "real" depression that has been for more than 2-3 weeks, then it's a hormonal imbalance. Might start off for a reason, maybe grief or whatever, but if longer than 2-3 wks your body gets so it cannot produce the serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine that causes a sense of wellbeing. No way to "pull you up by your bootstraps". Doesn't work.
You can't MAKE your body produce serotonin. Those producers have shut down. Medication will sort of throw "fertilizer" on it, so that it starts producing again. Anti-depressants don't make you happy, but they ease the darkness and make you able to cope. Then you're able to talk, seek help, or whatever to get past whatever it was that sent you there in the first place.
Almost all the answers I've seen here talk about the type of depression you get when it's rainy outside. Not the same thing at all, and unless you've been there, you just don't know and can't understand just how bad it can get.
Take baby-steps, Emily. See your family doc - he'll understand. It won't always be like this...

actually, listening to happy music when you're depressed doesn't help at all. It makes me want to cry and and punch someone in the face, all the time wondering how this person can be so happy. No, it's been scientifically proven that if you listen to depressing music, it makes you feel better. I like three days grace personally. And if you feel like you have no one to talk to, like me, writing down what you feel and why helps a lot. it really does. but do NOT resort to taking drugs or hurting yourself. I still have the scars from when I cut my wrists two years ago, and all it does is remind me of my problems. Also, a scenic walk is SUPER calming, and great think time. good luck!

Get up and set goals, know that your life is better than what you think, youll realize you have many stuff others dont, and thats not something to brag, but just be happy for what you have. Work hard to improve your life. You can complain and not do anything or work on challenges and goals to improve such life NOW. Happiness is decided by you, not by those around you. You are young, continue on and continue with whatever you enjoy the most. Sleep more, do a sport, snd eat healthy, hope i helped.

My mother always said, "Keep your mind and your hands busy, then you won't get depressed." After my husband took his life, I started a grief support group, and that was my healing. I didn't get depressed because I was thinking of others, and helping others.
Do for others would be my remedy.

Honey, I hate being in a depressing mood, so I feel your pain. I try to smile as much as I can even if it feels fake because eventually my smiles will become real. I like to read, listen to music, write, sing, dance, talk to my friends, and watch television to get my mind off of my depression.

listen to music. thats what i do. whatever mood i want to be in, ill listen to that kind of song... and listen to God. Even if the music doesnt help you like it does me, God will :)

Listen to music and feel really sad for a few hours/days. Set a deadline for you to snap out of it. After that deadline, you need to think you're happy. Hang with friends and stuff. Spend some ca$h! Buy some coolio stuff y'all!

depression is a state of mind if you take the time to just relax and do something you love like for me i read and listen to music. i see depression as feeling weak and lost, like the world has completely drained. so just do something that helps you to stop thinking and allows you to shut out the world

I was very depressed a cupple months ago. I became not depressed over ask! I told everyone my story and asked for someone to email to help me get through this. She was very helpful and now, I couldn't be happier! Her email is melissanena07@hotmail.com tell her I told you to email her because she helped me through my depression
