I have them on right now, and I have to wear them for 2 years. The first time I got them on didn't hurt at all, but the day after, my teeth hurt so bad. It's best to take Ibuprofen or any other pain killers before you get your braces put on. You will also get Canker Sores in your mouth on your gums, so it's best to put wax on the sharp edges of your braces, which is located in the back of your mouth. Gargling Salt Water helps too.
When you have braces, you can eat really anything. Pop-corn don't damage your braces either, because I ate Pop-corn so many times, and it didn't do anything. Just don't chew on hard Jolly Ranchers, or Laffy Taffy. You can chew gum though, because I do and nothing happens.

at first you wont feel anything when they put them on, its only after a couple hours and the next couple of days that your mouth will be sore and the slightest touch will hurt you teeth. youll only be able to drink liquids and soft things like bread for a couple days. but after that youcan eat whatever and you wont even feel you have them cuz you get so used too it. but the results are worth it. i get mines off next year.
when thy are put on they hurt for a couple of days, but then the pain goes away and you don't notice them. When you go in to get them tightened they hurt for a couple of hours. Jut take some pain killers and you will be fine
