Dear Ask community.. Do you hate any form of homosexuality?

This is more aimed towards those who disappove of this lifestyle. Why do you hate it? Avoid using its gross, wrong, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve".

I don't mind it at all in any way. The only thing that irritates me is when people give them so much, excuse the language, tihs (read backwards) about it. There is nothing wrong about it. But I ask them what I ask of straight couples: please don't make out in front of me. It makes me feel lonely. And a little grossed out. The tongue action is gross. Ew. :)

I dont approve of gays, homosexuals are fine. the difference between the two, is that gay refers to a self-chosen sexual identity and lifestyle, whereas homosexuality simply refers to an unchosen sexual attraction. To be Gay, one must commit the sin of adultery, i view gay s e x, the same way i view normal sex outside of marriage. s e xoutside of marriage is wrong, and to be Gay, you must have s e x outside of marriage. My big brother is a homosexual, but he realizes that to be Gay, would be to compromise his eternal soul by commiting the sin of adultery, and i dont support gay marriage, because ever since the beginning of time, marriage has been between a man and a woman, and i am not going to change the definition of marriage, in order to make someone else happy.

It's not adultery if they get married. And your misinformation about the "beginning of time" is stunning. Nobody cares about your "definition" of marriage, which will be obsolete soon enough. It's about human rights, not you trying to "make someone happy". Nor is it yours to give. If you give people the same rights you have and they can pursue their own happiness as stated in the Declaration of Independence.

gay and homosexual is the same, you cant just choose to be attracted to a different gender.
Report as
no its not the same, gay is a SELF chosen sexual IDENTITY, Homosexual is UNCHOSEN sexual ATTRACTION, and tralby, marriage has always, in all parts of the world, since forever, been between man and woman, that is simply a fact, and it doesnt matter what you decide to change it to, marriage is still between a man and woman, that is the way it is, that is truth.

im straight, that means right now i can choose to be gay?
Report as
you could choose to be gay, as in, you could choose to only have sex with another person of the same sex, you could not be a homosexual, as in, a person who has an innate attraction to those of the same sex.

Their have been gay relationships since the beginning of time, too. The Greek versions are particularly well known. Some societies have sanctioned that but most haven't. And why? Fear and ignorance. There is no need to live by 12th century standards any more. Encouraging traditional marriage and the nuclear family made some sense as a social compact back then as a matter of survival and societal organization. That is no longer necessary. It's not like there's a shortage of hetero couples with kids so people can align the way want to
now without harming anyone else.

Your is a simplistic view. It also doesn't account for the polygamy 150 years ago here that the cult of a certain recent presidential candidate.was part. Face it, your bigotry is an attempt to deny people not like you the rights that you enjoy.

no its not, and it isnt bigotry, i simply have an opinion that goes in accordnace with the moral law, i find it interesting though, that everyone else can state their opinion with no fear of being attacked by people like you who have nothing better to do than throw stones, but that i cant state an opinion, i'm a conservative and i'm proud of it, my view may be simplistic, but that doesnt make it any less right than yours.
Report as
@preppyboy, i cannot choose to be gay, i am simply unattracted to men and would not be able to have sex with one.
Report as
"In accordance with moral law"! Hah! There's nothing moral about treating others as second class citizens because they were born different form you. What makes it less right than mine is that you're practicing discrimination and I'm not. You're really no different than those who once said that it's the "natural order" that blacks should be subordinate. But it's ok, because your kind of bigotry is slowly dying out. In 50 years they'll be laughing at you. If not sooner.

I used to be homophobic but now with several friends that are gay I realize as long as it's not forced on me I have no negative concerns (although I dislike it when I see a over the top scream for attention as in "hey I wont let you look away this is in your face & you wont avoid it" that pisses me off) my sexuality is mostly couched in subtlety as in I dont massively make out in public or bang my girlfriend on a public venue so please keep it subtle that's not asking or expecting too much . . .

It's not a "lifestyle". It's who they are. Do you "approve" of females? Or cats? They too are born the way they are.

I think it's a lifestyle, and I live by it. I am a lesbian, so no need to get all sassy-pants with me. I approve of everyone, it's just whenever I ask a question about something where I usually mention my sexuality (i.e. my christmas question) I get comments like, "you're a girl......". But thanks for the input.
