On the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie about Hashi or Hachi, a Japanese dog what breed of dog is he?

Richard Gere and George Costanza were in this movie. very sad based on a true story.

It's Hachiko. The movie is Hachi. And the dog breed is Akita.

The dog in question is an Akida,very loyal,high energy and very territorial.Not a dog for lazy people!If you don't have time for the breed,don't get one!
