Solve for x. 7x - 2 = 47

help me solve this please!!!!

The value of x is 7. To get the answer, you need to put the like terms together so as to get 7x=47+2. When the negative sign passes the equals sign, it changes to positive and vice versa. Therefore, 7x=49; 49 divided by 7 you get 7.

x=7 because you move your 2 to the right and add it to 47 and then you get 49 and then you divide that by 7 and you get x=7

7x-2=47 you start by adding 2. 2+47=49. you end up with 7x=49 now you need to get the x alone so you divide by 7. 7/49=7 your answer would then x=7. don't forget to show your work

+ 2. + 2
7x = 49
/7. /7
x = 7
