Anyone who answers this meanly, will get a peice of my mind. Cause, he's my little bro. The way u guys answered my question last night were real mean. People are against it, cause their straight, and dont understand. Why shud it matter if they get married, its not ur life, and u shouldn't giv a crap.
Usually people are brought up to carry on their parents ideologies and ways of thinking/behaving. When children are taught a certain thing, or are raised in specific ways, and aren't corrected from bad behaviors, they will continue this as adults, and teach it to their children, thus creating a vicious cycle. So mostly it's from people learning from their parents and peers. I like seeing people educate themselves and form their own opinions.
Mostly it is fear. Listen to the people that are against it, not the Right and Wrong, but the "why" aspect: "attack on traditional marriage" "bad for the children" etc. This is despite, to my experience, never meeting a gay couple that is against straight marriage. Most gay couples I know believe in education as a cornerstone to a child's growth, safety and not over exposing sexual content. The thing about it these fears come from ignorance, but are fears none the less.
The Bible calls it an abomination. Those of us who believe the Bible as God's Word will never give you the answer you seek. Gay marriage is living a lie. As an atheist you don't really care what believers think and will do whatever you please so why ask. You'll just get the same response and get upset over and over.
