If spongebob is old enough to drive then why does he skip around blowing bubbles?

my guess is mentally ill

1. hes a danger to society. HEVE YOU SEEN HES DRIVING TESTS!?!???!?!
2. he works for a greedy crab and lives next to a squid with his own problems, somebody has to be enthusiastic
3.its a kids show, everybody in them is mentaly ill.

yes i know but why does he go around acting stupid if he's an adult, thats why so many little kids are messed up these days, they don't have their heads on right

I'm convinced that he was neglected as a child by his parents and, as a result, is still a child at heart. The only person I've seen really care for him on the show is his grandmother, who babies him and even berates him for not being a real man and taunts him while using his friend Patrick. In reality, Spongebob mind is warped to the point that he desires his childhood and as a result, he will be cursed to act like a child.
