I have oak cabinets in my kitchen i want them to look like natural maple is there a color of paint i could do that with?

I am a woodworker by hobby and, if you have oak cabinets (solid or veneer?), you can never make them look like maple. The grain is entirely different. Also, I have a natural aversion to painting wood cabinets unless the wood is construction grade or composite.

If you are intent on painting, then simply pick a color you like and enjoy; it may well brighten up your kitchen. (Truthfully, I have painted plywood cabinets in the past to good results.)

From what I know, there is no paint color that can make oak cabinets look like maple cabinets. This is because oak cabinet have a heavier grain than maple cabinets. However, you can choose any other color that can make your kitchen look good.
