Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes antimalware are an excellent combination. Our IT uses these at work and I have them at home and they do a really good job. And they are free!

Norton is really good, so is Advanced System Care.

As Oasis said, Norton is a good program, but I find that Trend Micro Titanium is the best. Here is a link to the Manufacturer's website, where you can purchase any of their antivirus programs: http://www.trendmicro.com/us/home/products/titanium/index.html If you have the money, I would purchase the Premium Security.

I use Unthreat and I like it because it doesn't slow down my computer and I haven't had a virus since I got it. You can check it out here www.unthreat.com
