My mom has really dry hands, they are conpletely cracked. She says that her hands hurt a lot. Her hands look like the skin has been torn

Any information about her hands would be helpful and especially any product reccomendations would be appreciated.

I have eczema this is what I have found that works best for me. My hands itch a lot. So first I put on some calamine lotion all over my hands. This turns white and most of it sits on the surface. So at the drug store I buy a square tin of Bag Bomb (green). I put this on top of the calamine lotion and it has lanolin in it so it makes your skin soft and takes the calamine into your pores. Then I cut off the top part of some white socks (or white gloves will work)
and ware the bottom part to bed. Repeat this until it goes away.
See a dermatologist if it doesn't.
It's works for me. They still have not found a cure for eczema.

A guy I know has a similar problem, he uses this special soap to take care of it, he told me what it was but I forget.

Buy some mink oil and use it as a lotion. You should see a big difference shortly.

She needs to wear rubber gloves any time her hands are exposed to soap and water. If she needs to clean her hands, she should use cleansing cream rather than soap and water. If she MUST clean them with soap and water, rinse the soap off thoroughly and partially dry the hands. Apply hand cream while the skin is slightly moist. The plastic "food handlers" gloves can be stuck in her purse and taken with her. The more she can keep water from her hands (which, with chlorine that is almost all water today, is removing oil from her skin) the less dry they will be.
I know it sounds like a hassle, but I have the same problems, and it's worth the hassle to not go around with my hands looking like a band-aid festival.
