How can i turn off my ipod touch when the power button won't let it turn off please i need my power button to work my ipod

If you have the ipod touch with a camera then all u gotta do is update your iPod only if the software version is less than IOS 5. to check go to settings>general>about>scroll down a lil and look for the version. it should say 5 or anything greater than that will work. if its less than 5 go on YouTube and search "how to update iPod touch on itunes" unless u already know how. So if it say's 5 or greater, then go back to the first page in settings then go to general again. scroll down to the very bottom and click on accsesability then click on assistive touch. a little black square should pop up on the screen with a white dot in the center of it. click on it and it will either say lock screen on the first page, and if not, click on device, then it should be there. click once to lock screen and hold down to power off. Hope this helped :) this won't work if iPod touch is not 4th generation or 5th generation <--(the ones with cameras)
