How do I get water out of my ear?

Report as

WARNING !..........NEVER probe into your ear with a cotton swab or other object ,You can very easily damage the ear drum and end up being fully deaf in that ear , Any damage to the ear drum is permanent and there is NO fix for it , Not worth the risk , SAFETY FIRST !!!!!

Got it!

well the doctor could do it for you

better not to fiddle with the ear too much. Maybe a ball of cotton could help when inserted in the whole. If severe pain or anything rush to an ENT specialist. http://www.exuberancebeauty.com/

Use alcohol wipes. Tear open packet, then tilt head to side, squeeze into ear canal, then, let excess run out. The alcohol will dry out the the water.

I have a friend that is a nurse practitioner and midwife who says your ears should drain while you sleep and if not to get some ear drops.

Sleep with the affected ear facing the surface of your pillow. After a few minutes, the force of gravity may pull the water out. http://cokhiduytuan.com

I have been told alcohol is a not to do- in the case you do have any open problems. If you do want to insist upon using it it is best to dilute it. So like a 1/4 a teaspoon per 10 ml., Ear drops, are good, If you have a baby nasal syringe You can flush the ear out, but warm water not too hot just the right temperature is when you touch it you cannot feel it anymore. but very very mild pressure. Your inner ear drum is sensitive yes. You can get scar tissue in there and minor hurts do heal over time. yet scarring can cause later issues. As frustrating it is, it does tend to come out on its own. Relax your jaw. Open your jaw, swiveling your jaw. Helps some. =)

My audiologist actually told me a home remedy!! Get a small bottle with an eye dropper attachment, mix a 50/50 mix of white rubbing alcohol (do not use wintergreen or alcohol w/acetaminophen added) & white vinegar ( do not use apple cider vinegar or all natural with the mother still in it, just white vinegar. In the small bottle mix half alcohol & half vinegar. Shake well before each use. Put 3-4 drops in the effected ear. If possible do not use cotton balls since the air is needed to help the alcohol dry up any water, and the vinegar prevents any bacteria being able to grow. I haven't had any ear problems since he told me about this over 7 years ago!

Hold your nose shut, and close your mouth, and close your eyes. Then blow. Water will burst through your ears. I saw this on Tom & Jerry, I don't know if it works but there's nothing to lose.

Tilt your head and jump like crazy.
It also might be fluid in your middle ear. If it's either, it'll usually disappear soon.

Iron a towel (or get it pretty hot), hold it against your ear, and tilt your head sideways (ear that has water facing the floor).

One this happened to me.I carefully pushed in a cosmetic cotton cleaning ball and that soaked the water from the earlobe. But if the matter is complicated then you must get it out from an ENT specialist who will have specialised tools. http://www.exuberancebeauty.com/

I know this because my doctor told me, after I got a serious ear infection from moisture in my ear. You are supposed to tilt your head to the side so that it is horizontal and tug gently on your earlobe. You should feel the water dripping out after a few seconds.

You just tilt your head the way that your ear has water than jump up and down while your head is tilted. then after a few seconds the water will come out.

Either take a cap of alcohol and heat it for about 5-10 seconds and pour it in your ear let it sit and dump it out after a few minutes. Or just take any cheap ear drops you can find at a drug store.

Try dabbing a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and put it in said ear with water. Of course, I don't mean stab into your ear, but don't put it all the way in for the sake of safety reasons. My friend tried it after she got water in her ear from swimming and she said it worked; it cleared right up.

put your palm tightly over it and push over your ear. When you release your hand the suction will pull the water out. Try jumping on the leg opposite of your ear too

Put alcohol on a Q-tip and gently place it in your ear. The alcohol will evaporate the water I do it every summer to prevent swimmers ear.

over-the-counter treatment for water in the ear (swimmers ear) contain 98% rubbing alcohol in the form of drops to be put in the ear. for many yars i have placed alcohol drops in my ears and my childrens and grandchildrens after swimming or bathing. alcohol dries the water in your ear, just tilt your head and put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in the affected ear then let run out. if your ear is already infected it may take several days of trying

There are multiple ways, but I find using a solution of 1 part rubbing alcohol and 1 part vinegar the best. It dries the water out. You can also try lying sideways with the water filled ear pointing down. Gravity does the rest.
