Honest answer. Warm up your leg muscles. Gently stretch them. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. The stretch will gradually get wider and wider until you are able to do the splits.
I was a cheerleader in the 1960's. I would do a round off and land in the Chinese splits from as high as I could fly. Then as a 30 yr. old, I gained back the ability by doing what I said above. It took 3 months to regain my flexibility. Be patient. Don't get hurt.

I have NO idea. I want to find that else for myself. HOW THE HECK DO THEY EVEN DO IT? o_O

Well I know how but I'm teaching my lil sis to do it and its hard to explain how to do it
