Itchy, red acne on chest?

I have moderately severe acne on my back, a light acne condition on my face, and a very severe case on my chest - on my chest it is EXTREMELY red and itches like heck, I've been very careful not to touch it but it won't go away! How can I relieve the inflammation, are there any home remedies I could use?
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry to hear that your skin is so irritated. What ever you do make sure you don't shave. It will only make your problem worse. You might want to dab the irritated area with witch hazel.

You are so welcome. If it gets any worse make sure you see a doctor. Cortizone might give you a little relief as well.

This could be a symptom of diabetes. See your doctor and ask him to give you an A1C blood test.

PKMarten, interesting I did not know that.

If it is just rash like with out white heads and bumps under the skin it could be a heat rash too, prickly heat. It is very itchy. The only thing that helps it with me is showering and scrubbing with a soft brush then putting on lotion afterwards and trying to stay cool.

Try Aveeno. They make bath oatmeal powder stuff, body wash (the baby wash formula is the best), and lotions for itching.
It could be from whatever you are using to wash or treat the bumps. The product could be over drying it or you might be allergic to the ingredients. Some skin cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can irritate skin too. If all else fails, go to a dermatologist.
