Anyone else experienced this?

I've noticed in the past couple months, that when I go out to eat and leave the tip on the credit card ... the restaurant doesn't actually charge the tip on my card. And it's not just one restaurant, it's happened repeatedly at: Shari's, Red Lobster, Outback, Sizzler, and Applebee's (as well as some local diners). Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this?

I admit to being way old-fashioned. Even if I pay for the meal with a credit/debit card, I leave the tip in cash. I know how poorly those servers are paid and how many people they have to split it with; I figure that the government doesn't really need an even bigger piece of their pie. It's not on my conscience if they don't want to pay taxes on their tips; it's on theirs... but at least it IS their decision.

I just don't usually carry cash.
The bank I direct deposit to, doesn't have a branch/ATM where I live ... and I don't want to pay $2-$5 every time I would need to make a withdrawal.

... and, yeah ... I'm too lazy to change banks. LOL

I know the feeling... those service charges stink.

Lowheadroom

I always use cash for my meals and the tip, I just don't like the waitress walking away with my credit card.
