Why are friends important?

I have friends. I just don't see the use of them.

Report as

Just to have someone to share special moments with, someone to laugh with, be silly with, and just have fun with. Someone you can vent to, someone who is there to bear your burdens and lift you up when you're down. My best friend is like a sister to me- I know I can count on her and she can count on me.
.
maybe you just need better friends.
.
my favorite friend quote- "a friend is someone who walks in, when the rest of the world walks out."

Friends keep you going, they are just good to get things out on sometimes, some people dont need them, but they grow bitter, most people at least have work/school friends.

Friends are the ones that are always there for you, whether the times are good or bad. They never leave your side, even in the wort of circumstance. Friends respect who you are, and are always there to make you happy. You can always count on your friends, whether you have advice or need help. After family, friends are the ones who care for you. They bring a smile on your face when you are sad. Friends love you and care for you.

It depends on the friend. If they encourage you to be your best, help you out when you need it, and accept you the way you are, then they are a friend worth keeping. But if they encourage you to do the wrong things, mooch off of you, and want you to change yourself to meet their standards, then you can do way better. But it's always great to have good friends because everyone needs that someone who brings a smile to their face. And don't get the idea that the amount of friends you have determines how 'cool' you are. I'm pretty popular, but for being me and not being who everyone else tries to be. I only hang out with my bestest friends though :) Lissa, Diana, && Ashanty :)

Sounds like you are happy & at peace with yourself. That is a good thing.
But :
If you ever break a leg : you'll need a good friend.

You are a poor person indeed friends are important a true friend knows every thing there is to know about you, the good as well as the bad and still thinks of you as family. A friend is someone you can share your hopes and dreams with.
There is a rhyme from my childhood;
Make mew friends
But keep the old
One is silver
The other is gold.
If you still see no particular need for friends you will live a very miserable lonely life, and for that I feel sorry for you. I hope and pray you rethink your need for friends.

Not a very nice way of putting it. Maybe they just never had good friends.

What is wrong with true friendship?

Nothing at all! Friendship is VERY important-everyone needs a friend. I just meant calling the persons a "poor person," maybe they're not.

You must be to young to understand the statement, it is making reference to ones moral fiber. Morally one could be wealthy beyond belief or poorer than a church mouse. I am sorry I sometimes forget the age spread in the people on this sight.

I have many friends. I appreciate their support, but I don't see why we should need them.
Report as
If that is how you feel then try living without any friends maybe then you will understand.

I already went through my period without friends. I concentrated on my studies, read, and learned. I was the best in class, and I'm awarded money from my grandparents for each A I recieve on my report card. I had all A's and I recieved a hundred dollars richer per quarter of the year. Now, I have friends, get B's, and am broke. I'm sorry that your scenario doesn't work for me.

Try not having any friends for a while, then, you will see the use of them. :)
