Is it legal to wear a legit gas-mask in public?

Me and my friends are going to go to Wal-Mart with masks on, buy really weird and suspicious items, film it, and put it on YouTube. The only "mask" I have around happens to be a gas-mask. I don't want to get in any legal trouble though. I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but, better safe than sorry. Thanks in advance.

I would seriously suggest not going in with any masks on at all, or you will likely find yourself being apprehended by loss prevention, and held for police questioning for suspicious behavior. It's not even funny to pull such a prank these days the way people freak out over potential terrorist activities, or other tragedies (like the Aurora movie theater shootings) that have been occurring lately.

well, if it was Halloween maybe it would go by, but people would suspect something, even if they didnt care, the shoppers might, people are paranoid.

Yea may Ull be seen as a terrorist especially with the camera don't do it and maybe sum random patriot carrying a gun will have a flashback and shoot you. Not cool man it's a really bad idea. But if you do ill look forward to seeing you on the news or on the show worlds dumbest

Dude, people are mega paranoid these days....you would probably get really un-lucky and run across an unstable war vet that'll snap your neck.....all I can suggest is not trying to do this at such a major store, try to find a smaller type store and talk with the manager first....I mean I think it's a funny idea, but that's only because I'm already aware that it's a joke

Talking to the manager first is a great idea, didn't even think of that. It takes the element of surprise out, but still 100 times better than ending up getting arrested (or worse).

So you and your friends are going to just walk into a store with various masks on? Yeah good luck with that. Security will have you on the ground in under a minute and they will have every legal right to treat you like a terrorist.

My Russian friend has a gas mask. He wore it on the public bus once. He said he was protecting himself from old people gas XP. I wouldn't suggest wearing it for a prank though

Yes.There was this crazy guy named Tae Wah that lived in my neighborhood as a kid.He walked all over the place with a gas mask and camo jumpsuit on.I never saw him get arrested.

Honestly? If I saw someone with a mask on like that I'd freak out! I already am bad about thinking of the worst, but that would send my paranoia through the roof. I mean if I see someone walk into a gas station with there hands in their pockets I think they're about to rob it! I'm so paranoid it's not even funny.
