Pick your friends carefully! Don't make friends because they live next door or you work with them or go to school with them. If they have bad habits you will be likely to acquire them. Overcome the fear of death which most people have thinking they have to leave some kind of legacy or accomplishment to the world. The teachings of Don Juan authored by Carlos Castenada gives guidance unavailable in any other books about choosing "a path with heart."
The main point is to always make time to do the things that help you keep your sanity, and don't bow to societal standards, because if you just follow the rat race all the time, well, that path only leads to exhaustion and destruction.
Love the Question and especially all the sweet answers! I wonder what it is that U do - seems like u r wondering what everyone else does? Reason being is what works for me in that regard might not go over so well for you - we were all wired slightly different from the factory thus uniquely needing to vary how we experience the world. In all honesty im not balanced at all...pretty much totally lopsided. Still like your question tho :)
Most important thing is that do not interfere in anyone's life and do not give suggestions to any one until or unless you have been asked for. That is very simple logic for a balanced state. Moreover always be a decision maker. Do not lie on others because it is you who has to live and face the situations.Make your decisions and follow them.
It gets simple when you pay attention to your VERICAL ALIGNMENT . I will of course explain , imagine a huge inverted letter tee "T" all the stuff of your life goes on on the flat part of that "T" the center pillar is your Vertical life ...... that is you relationship to GOD. Now alot of people think that they are ooooo kkkkkk with the big guy, the boss, the man upstairs, etc. and a host of other absurd names. in most everyone's life this vertical alignment is tilted and thus does not quite reach to the All Mighty now this tilt also tilts your horizontal life, so that when we do not line up with GOD then our whole life is also out of kilter skewed, soon even our thinking becomes tilted and crooked seems normal.
I think it is helpful to be able to shut out parts...kind of departmentalize (?). Not in a way to shirk from responsibilities or to hide from negative parts but to keep from going crazy. We all always say how we can multi-task, and in circumstances that is very helpful. However, I think when we have multiple areas of thought/work/play churning simultaneously...we get out of balance and overwhelmed. You need to pay household bills, spend more time with an ailing parent, help a child with a scout project, get an oil change, read the next chapter of a book, decide on holiday events...sure, read the book while the oil is getting changed. But when you set the household bills aside and they're not all met...so long as the electric isn't getting cut off tomorrow, move on to something else and don't continue to dwell on it. Go visit your mother with a clear head and return to the bills in the morning.
a well balanced holistic lifestyle? uuhhhh, sounds like you often visit the organic salad aisle and granola bar section....uhhh maybe go all the way and wear multi-colored tunics purple sunglasses and grow your hair real long
Financial stability. Live within your means by not spending more than you can truly afford. Be honest with yourself when you are considering a purchase. If you really need a large flat screen television, ask yourself, can I afford to pay this off quickly AND, can I afford the extra expense from now on for the electric bill and the cable or internet bill associated with the television? Pay your bills on time. Some don't think about the future because it seems so far away and they're not thinking that someday they may want to buy a home or have good credit for some other purpose. Without financial stability, you are the mercy of others because it may force you to live in conditions that you wouldn't have to. Lack of financial security is like running away from home if you were a child. When you do have financial stability, you sleep better at night, you smile more. You get perks like better rates on loans, auto and home insurance or get a dream job at a reputable company or that loft apartment after they run a credit check. You don't have to be wealthy to be financially stable but it's a form of feeling rich because it opens doors to a better life.
Be open to everything an present a positive attitude with great energy. Meditation or any communication classes can help. Don't be too into other people, but be open to their opinions and beliefs. This will help in both your personality and your life. It will help you accept people as how they are in public. Good Luck!
