Did God turn His favor away from Rome due to its sinful nature?
Did it fall as the result of barbarian invasions?

This is because actual history books don't reference rumor, made up 'facts' and religion. Religious history is a completely different topic though.

It fell because it was a divided empire full of corruption and inner turmoil,it had nothing to do with it's religious choices.

I'm not sure God ever 'favored' Rome, but it sure seemed to fall by doing everything it could to displease God.

It had nothing to do with god. Rome fell because it was weakened by corruption and poor management. It's neighbors then took advantage of this weakness by invading its territories. It was just a matter of time before the capital fell. The fall of Rome was a disaster for Europe because everyone now tried to take over everyone else's lands. Murder and mayhem followed and civilization actually went backwards for a time.
