Ask your doctor about which foods contain the nutrients you need to maintain stability. The problem with that is the foods may not contain enough and may be metabolized quicker than medication.
You should also ask which foods you should avoid. Basically the ones that could inhibit the other foods or could trigger reactions to you. I have a friend that has to avoid dairy or he gets a little "emotional."
As I understand it, it's next to impossible to control it without meds. I know they make you feel somewhat flat and lackluster, but mood swings can be disruptive and harmful to a well-ordered, manageable life.
