Why do all these wookies have the right to do less then us men but still have the same title?

I'm not sexist but What happened to everyone is equal? Recently Marine corps are not letting wookies do a flex arm hang to pass their PT tests, max score is changed to 10 pull ups for them and 20 for us. We will always have to outperform for the same title, that doesnt seem equal to me. don't give me that bs that guys are a lot stronger,if it's to hard join the navy. And another thing, do you think wooks should stay pogue's?

Haha..your prob not going to be the last to think that.

Ditto... and apparently I slipped into an alternate universe where "I'm not sexist but" translates into "here's a rant designed to enrage all of the already-raging feminists in the group". Which I'm not... I'm far too confident with who I am to be made insecure by such... I'm just saying. (And for the record, I can outlift a lot of guys I know)

A double standard would be expecting a woman to perform at the same level of a man on a physical test. that's ridiculous. of course there are women out there that could. but over all, fitness is defined by certain standards and physical strength is only part of it.

It's not that I think women should be kept out of combat scenarios, simply because they are female, double standards p!$$ me off
Report as
yeah. i can understand that, but it some cases its also silly to treat two situations exactly the same (so it can seem fair) when in reality, by treating it the same its actually unfair.

I'm not sure I understand that

Imagine a judge not considering the fine details of a case before handing out a sentence... While it might seem fair to say that EVERYONE who does such and such crime gets 10 years in prison... however i can bet that in some cases that would be VERY unfair.

Do you understand how easy the PFT is compared to boot camp?women will have no problem of performing min req
Report as
no i dont really. but I have faith that there is likely a reason that youre not considering (even if i dont know what it is)
Report as
so its just like a yearly?

Yeah, initial strength test to get in boot camp (IST),PFT and couple other tests every year after boot camp.

okay bud, ill give it to you straight.

Heres a couple things to think about if wookies=women (cause im not even sure)

But here ya go;

First of all, your "same title" allows you to do alot more in the millitary than it does for her. So in reality its her not really getting what is being suggested.

second, guys are still fighting on the front lines and still need to be able to drag any soldier that goes down in a heap. Until women need to drag fallen soldiers around in the front lines, they probably dont need the same physical prowess.

third, i smaller body mass on a "wookie" makes her better fit for other jobs, should you exclude a woman because she cant do 20 pull ups? thats nuts... women DONT have the same upper body strength and have a different set of standards for physical fitness. they always will.

Grow up and realize that all they want is a chance to serve their country just like you.

Well if they want it they will have to work hard like everyone else or go to a different branch. In this case it's if you can't stand the heat stay in the kitchen. They have a grading process for how good everyone does for PFT. For example if you get anywhere from (min)8-13 pull ups you will be 3rd class, 14-17 2nd class and 18-20(max points). Why should she get more points/better class when I outperformed her. If you can't do a min of 8 pull ups in the corps you shouldn't be in it.

I know what your saying tho I just think it shouldn't be the way it is...
Report as
I can get that... but a woman with a higher class probably doesnt get the same assignments as a man with the same class. Make sense?

also, if a man and a woman do a similar physical workout for the same amount of time for the same amount of days, a man will come out being able to do more pull ups... true story.
Report as
thus, asking a woman to do the same amount of pull ups is actually asking her to work harder than men.

You can thank "political correctness".

Since the Marines provide security to the President and embassies, though ... I wonder what the President and Ambassadors would think about having a woman assigned to their guard detail, knowing that she didn't have to pass the same fitness tests a man would.

And if those fitness levels aren't necessary for the duties a Marine has ... why have them for men?
