Be busy in the day so that you will be tired by the end of the day. Also eat a lot of food. DO NOT go on any electronics before you go to bed. I think it has something to do with the light that makes you feel awake. DO NOT eat, drink, or smell anything that is minty. Reading is also good. I defiantly recommend stretching, working out, or going on a diet. My sister did all 3 of those and she said that she has been having better sleep. If you can absolutely NOT go to sleep fast, you can always talk to a doctor or take some sleeping pill like Melatonin (SP?) Good Luck! -Calicokat
I had so much problems sleeping because I worked long hours and found myself restless then I started drinking camomile and rooibos red tea (not at the same time of course, I rotated them). Drink without any sugar and milk just before going to bed. Let me know if it worked.
Melatonin works wonders to help you establish a good sleep pattern. It is not a drug, it is actually produced in a different form by the human body. Also try a warm cup of one of the calming teas. The two together with a book that does not require you to think about it, works wonders.
Try and not to get caffeine in your body. Things like tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and other drinks are making you hyper at sleep. Also, get into bed shortly after you take a warm shower. Anything warm (except for warm caffeinated drinks) help you sleep better, especially when you just had it. Hope this helped!
