There is a spray, nasty tasting, that you can spray in your throat and it numbs it for a while. I've also heard it helps to gargle with salt...I don't know cuz I always use the spray. I think it's Vicks. There are also lozenges.
Ah man, sore throats are my least favorite thing. And honestly the only thing(s) that have helped me with mine, are cough drops. I always get the Halls Refresh cough drops. I've never had luck with the gargling salt water. Thou warm/hot tea with honey is very soothing. If you have a warm mist vaporizer, I would suggest setting it up in your bed room. Turn it on about an hour before bed. You can buy the Vicks to put in it too. If you don't have one, I would suggest buying one, they aren't that expensive. If you can't afford one of those, boil hot water, for about an hour. Make sure there is always water in the pan thou. Make sure you're drinking enough liquids. Oh chicken broth or chicken noodle soup, warmed up, feels amazing too. Hope you feel better soon sweets!
Drink plenty of liquids so your throat won't get dry. As mentioned, gargle with warm salt water, use spray (Chloreseptic is another one), and use lozenges. Some people use a honey and lemon juice mixture, but I don't know the amounts to use.
As soon as you feel that oh-oh I think I'm getting a sore throat feeling, reach for the salt, approx 2 teaspoons in a cup of ( as hot as you can stand) hot water, and gargle the lot, chances are your throat will be ok in the morning, BUT you need to do this as soon as you realize you're getting a sore throat. Keep it up, once or twice a day, you can never overdo it. Good luck, happy gargling...?
