I have a bunch of recorded 8mm tapes but have no equipment to play them on or duplicate them on to preserve them. What can I use or do?

There are companies out there ( and I don't know where you live so I can't tell you which one ), but look in your phone book.

That can transfer 8mm film to dvd's or cd's or whatever format you want and it is not expensive.

I found a place for my parents to do that with the old baby movies

You are going to at least need a 8mm player to view these films. Then you may be able to go to a VCR and put them on a tape. This will allow you to connect to you computer with the proper software and may be convert them to a DVD.

Search the Internet for companies that convert old movies to DVD. You send them your tapes and in a few weeks they send you a Dvd and your tapes back.

We had our old 8mm tapes transferred to VHS by a photo shop. We have now transferred them to digital

If you can find or borrow or rent and old player then show them on the side of a refrigerator and film it with a digital camera. Quality not perfect but at least preserved
