Yes, just let him know you are here for him. You can also get funny movies to help lift his spirits and watch those with him. Spend time with him if you can and tell him how much he means to you. If he is a religious man, praying with him will do a world of good.

More than anything, let your dad know you care and tell him how you feel and listen to him when he tells you how he feels. Ask him if there is anything you can do for him. If he can't think of anything now, tell him if he comes up with something later, to let you know and you will be there.

I am sorry he has this, but it may help you to know this type of cancer is usually a very slow acting cancer. This may give him some time to explore some medical and/or natural treatment options. You might also look up Saw Palmetto online for him, it is an herb some have claimed helped them with Prostate cancer.

Good luck and god bless!

I am not an expert at things like this, but my grandma had cancer, and the best thing i could do was be there for her and get her anything she needed. I also told her I loved her ALL the time.

Care for prostate cancer patients is important, especially where a patient realizes his or her family is offering both emotional and material support. Help out with small tasks and assistance as your dad might require because it plays a very big role in his recovery plan. It is a huge source of emotional support. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-different-types-of-prostate-cancer-support.htm.
