Yes, I loved it but its not easy work. I admire people who are CNA's its just sad that they get paid the least for their hard work. However, if that is where your heart is, the reward of knowing your helping others is nice. Not only that its a great way to get your foot in the door.especially if you want to move up and become a registered nurse or LVN

I love it too...but I feel it's nearing time for a change. 13 years as an aid is a long time.

That is a long time.. My mom was a CNA for 15 years until she became a psych tech

She loved that work, perhaps you should look into somthing like that?

Most cases a nursing assistant is a certificate program at an area technical school, usually a 12-month program. In many states you need this to work in that profession.
Don't let the 12- month "delay" make you change your mind. Health care is a growing industry and a certificate is "portable" meaning you can just about move anywhere. Good luck!

Not 12 months.... I guess MAYBE depending on the state.... I was certified in Colorado and it was only a 2 week course.

Maccuje, I took a nursing assistant program in California and it only took me 3 months to take the course, pass the exam, and get cetification. The class ran about $400.00 dolars and but it paid for the training, fingerprinting, exams, and certification. My instructor was incredible.

Hi :) fortunately yes you can ..
Even if you don't have a high school diploma you have to take an exam there and then u can do the training
CNA it's not that hard as people say , you have to memorize all the skills that's the hard part , but if you pay attention you are going to be fine
