Dandruff is a fungus. (I'm not talking about flaky, dry scalp. But this may help that too.) Dissolve two full-strength aspirin in warm water. Pour onto scalp and message gently - leave on for about 5 minutes. Wash hair as usual, Rinse then pour on your scalp, 1 Tablespoon of vinegar diluted in large glass of water. Rub in, especially on scalp. Rinse; Condition as usual. Do this 2 to 3 times weekly - the salicylic acid in the aspirin will eventually kill the fungus; vinegar is a terrific super cleaner and kills many bacteria. (Coming from a long line of barbers, this remedy has been proven in our family countless times.)

Use Selsun Blue shampoo which is prescribed by doctors and is sold over the counter. I have been using since the early seventies and have no problems since. It is for a type of dry skin, and it leaves the hair like you used a conditioner. It is sold in most stores.
