yes, some do, i personally believe they shouldnt, because while they are just as capable as the Guys are, God gave men the job of protecting and defending all of his other creations, that includes women, and its pretty hard to protect someone when they are getting blown to pieces in a combat situation.

Females are not in direct combat jobs (except for Pilots) but in an insurgency there are no front lines and non-combat troops do get into the battle sometimes. A female M.P. name Leigh Anne Hester won the Silver Star for her role in a battle with Iraqi insurgents who ambushed the convoy her unit was escorting.
They do jobs that put them in harm's way, but they currently are not sent directly into combat. A lawsuit was filed recently to change that, as without combat experience there are ranks in the military that will never be open to women.
