I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but I have a British halfpenny (with George III on the head) without a date. Is this common?
Coin with no date? Why?
There were some made, unsure of the quantity. There were also a number of counterfeits made at the time. I would suggest taking it to a professional numismatist to have it evaluated. It could be worth a few dollars.
It is not common for British Halfpenny to lack date. It is normally beneath
Britannia. It may be because it is worn out.
