Santa comes down the chimney and delivers presents, right? Could he be charged with breaking and entering?

Report as

I would certainly blackmail him, and make him put me on the nice list... or he gets it!

Why did I just flash on a picture of Santa having a seizure from being Tasered?

Good point. There must be some places he has the sense to avoid altogether.

Only if they catch him. And the people who see him get high as help and imagine reindeer flying, so they assume he's fake. But I know better. So, in conclusion, yes. But they think he's fake.

Yes but why would you want to ruin CHRISTmas for all the children? At least he's leaving you things instead of taking.

Related to that line of thought, I've wondered about the hypothetical situation of someone breaking into a home and then doing chores: washing the dishes, cleaning the toilet, maybe dusting the blinds. How many people would decide drop charges?
Report as
None!

Nope.. Just entering.... He Broke Nothing !!

Report as
Good point. Unlawful entry perhaps?
Report as
Depends upon whether or not There was cookies and milk left out for Him.... That would be entrapment !!

I know that I've tried to have him charged with malicious destruction of property. Have YOU ever tried to get big sooty bootprints out of an antique hearth rug?

Santa didn't bring what I asked for that year... and I reeeaally wanted it... >:|
Report as
Not to mention theft of cookies. How does he know I wasn't planning on eating those later? Just because I leave them lying around on a plate...
Report as
I happen to know he's lactose intolerant... and I paid an elf to hide the Lactaid this year.
Report as
Hahahaha to the last 3 comments!
Report as
Oooo... nice one, Mary Jo!! Better keep your bathroom stocked w/ toilet paper!!
Report as
Nope... locking the doors to the bathrooms. ;-)
Report as
Then you're going to have more than soot stains on that rug!! XD
Report as
Lol. I'm leaving a package of Depends instead of milk and cookies. I'm not COMPLETELY heartless you know...

Hmm... that depends...
We didn't have a chimney when I was a kid, so we had to leave the front door unlocked for Santa. In that case, with the door already being unlocked, I think Santa would be okay. Plus, to the best of my knowledge, he never took any of our stuff, just left gifts. :)

Report as
Haha, it's amusing, it was drawn as a joke X-mas card!
I really DO love Santa & X-mas has never been the same since I found out he wasn't really flying in his sleigh, going down chimneys, bringing gifts and all that... being a kid at X-mas was awesome!
Report as
So you're saying the invitation into your home was implied by the door being left open? I can buy that.
Report as
Ahh people these days -_- ha
Report as
FatKenney -- As I see it, leaving the door unlocked, plus cookies & milk for Santa, and carrots for his reindeer, WAS an open invitation -- I was expecting him to come by... but, only on X-mas Eve... 8)
Report as
I suppose most households in the world would be willing to drop charges even if an y were filed. Still...
Report as
*any*
Report as
Not necessarily... if you can see my profile pic/drawing... you can see what I did to "His Jolliness." >:|
