Why do people think Santa rides on a flying slay with reindeers and why is Santa a icon of Chistmas?
This is your best answer, so far!1. Concerning flying reindeer (actually ugly animals) pulling Santa in a sleigh, go to:http://m.voices.yahoo.com/santas-flying-reindeer-their-history-7288514.html2. For an excellent article about the historical Saint Nicholas, go to:http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=3713. I hope this fully answers your question; and is helpful. Additional questions? Please ask them in comments. Frank
you know santa isnt real, right?
in the 1700's in europe saint Nicholas would take good packages to poor families on christmas day. the only animal that could get through the snow were deer being pulled by sleigh.
Santa is a spin off, I guess you could say, of a saint of the church by the name of Nicolas who would give gifts to poverty stricken children.
Slay means to killSleigh is a horse drawn winter conveyance.
