To stop the music from playing, enter the iPod app and simply press Pause (note, there is no Stop button). You cannot delete the default applications but to delete the ones that you've installed, simply hold down any one app until they all star "shaking". Proceed to press the (X) next to the app that you'd like to erase. A confirm message should pop up.

Occupy cluck the circle button twice quickly it will show what apps are running in background. Hold down one for a sec and you will get the delete bar to pop up on each app. Just press the ones you want to close.

Not sure but I also think this may help conserve your battery

I know, First I'll answer your "How do I delete an app" question: In order to delete an app, you must hold your finger on the app until all your apps are wiggling, then you'll see these little "X"s on the top left corner of your apps, so you press the little "X" on the app you want to delete (If you updated your iPod to iOS 4, then you can have some games connected to your game center, and if you delete them, your game center account can still keep your game data saved inside it, just incase you want to download it again because of a problem occurring in your game app) and choose the option to delete it. Okay now to the next question "How do I stop music in my iPhone" Well I'm not so sure what you mean by that, but I think I know what you can do, if you can't press the pause button to stop your music and you have no power over it, I suggest you force restart your iPhone (To force restart your iPhone, you just hold the Wake Button and the Home Button and the same time until your iPhone turns off and restarts, this is really helpful if you encounter your iPhone being frozen and you can't press the home button nor the wake button to stop it, this can happen if it's stuck during the use of an app) or if you can, just hold the power button and slide the red slider to turn of, then turn your iPod back on. I hope this helps! This is the first time I ever answered a question on a Question & Answer website.

I also have this problem and think I can clarify why it was asked. There's only a pause and play button on the iphone music app. I pause the music and go about using my phone and at some point during the day the music is running again. I don't want to delete the app from my phone b/c I like to listen to podcasts while I work out but I'm sick of it running all the time and it draws down my battery. I thought it might be that shuffle was on in my music app settings, but it's not. Any advice?

When I read your comment, at first I thought it was a joke. But then I thought -- well that makes sense. It works! The music actually stops, and there is nothing scrolling when you click the music button. Saves the battery. Thanks.

I have the same problem. My iPhone music just mysteriously starts to play on its own and then runs down my battery. Its a real hassle. Is there any solution?

Was there ever a final fix for this? I have a similar problem that I thought was an Android issue, but now I have it happening on my I5, also. Root cause is my PLT-M1100 Bluetooth (able to connect to two phones at once), but they don't seem to have a solution. I "fixed it" by deleting all music from my Android. Now it hapens on the I5. Issue - Intermittently, after finishing a conversation on Phone #1, phone #2 kicks on and starts playing music for no reason at all. Sure, I can stop it, pause it, ask it to close...but I need to PREVENT it. Basicaly, I want to know if there is a way to make it never play music again unless specifically requested to do so. Anyone seen this before and find a fix?

Actually you can't switch off the music on an iphone when connecting to an automobile audio system or similar. Also, to pause it is also a problem because it frequently becomes "unpaused" I have a solution which works well, because I need to have my Aux connected when I use my iPhone as a GPS. I created a playlist which I named "Silence" and downloaded a song, which is to do with Remembrance day in the UK. It is called "2 Minutes Silence" and costs NZ$2.39. I then put that song in the "Silence" Playlist and put it to loop, so in effect I have 2 minutes silence, continuously looped which gives me what I want. Mickey Mouse to be sure , but it works.

You should be embarrassed posting that. See rhman1 for a true solution.

Close the App. Double click the round home button. Swipe the music app (not the icon) up and it will remove it from memory shutting it down. On iphone 5 latest OS.
