Does anyone think there should be a chat on this website?

Not saying I do just wondering, and I think people sometimes use comments to chat

There is a lot of drama between certain users. I also think it would encourage sharing of personal information

Someone already said it...this is ASK, not TALK. There are plenty of chat sites out there for others to use. Let those of us that want to help others by answering questions free of a lot of unrelated chatter, do that. That is what makes Ask.com so great....You can answer a question or ask one, and no one starts "something" or decides to talk about what they did today in the middle of a serious question and answer exchange.

Clifford, they do though. There's been adults who have met up with one another. I've become really good friends with people on here.

There are more people on Ask.com than you might think. We do not get to see all the questions all the time. As I understand it, questions are directed by what your interests are in your profile. I read that somewhere when I signed on....may want to ask the mods however.

No, no and a thousand times NO!!! There are plenty of social and chat sites out there. Ask.com is not a social site and that is what makes it so great. I come here to try to help others with questions and problems they are having and have not been able to get answers to other places, or they just want another opinion. I can read and answer what I want to and not have to be bothered by some troll or hate-monger either insists on barging in or stalks me. Our mods are great...this is a great site for finding answers to everyday problems and it is free, for the most part, of those that only want to twist other people's words into a hate message, No chats on here, ever, please

No, because there are already specific chat sites for specific things. If one needs to actually talk back & forth with someone, they need to be there. Chats take up a lot of unnecessary space when people go into unwanted details (there are just some things I do not want to know about a person's life) and someone always goes off subject. There are lots of chatrooms....this site started out as Ask Jeeves, strictly someplace to find out answers you could not get anywhere else. I want it to stay a Q&A site without the chat.

Not really! But I do wish that on the mobile version it would notify you when you get a comment on you're Q or A!
