St Thomas Aquinas said "any man who does not believe in God, has some reason for not wanting God to exist" so all atheists have some reason that they don't want God to exist for. whether its that acknowledging God's existence would mean they have to start living a more moral lifestyle, or some other reason, all of them have one.
Because alot of logical people out there, meaning alot of non believers. Also alot of atheist because they were raised by parents who didnt know or didnt teach them about your religion. Also people who are *dont believe until seen.* And also, with 8 billion people in the world.... SOMEONE, has to be the athiest right?
Why believe in a higher power that may judge you on how you've lived life. Having the fear of being punished would really put a damper on things. Personally they don't bother me, to each his own. They're entitled to believe or in this case not believe in a supreme being, that's one of the best parts of living in America. I leave them alone & go on my way, now if you feel that you have a right to say something offensive to me I may have a problem with you. It's never been an issue
Because the demand for evidence is ongoing. People are starting to realize that clever mind games are not enough to believe in BS. Science is learning more and more about the universe and its becoming increasingly difficult for theist to defend the position of the bible when it so clearly contradicts what we know to be true about the universe. Because logic and reason are the path to truth- not blind credulity and because as literacy rises those who read the bible begin to understand that it is a book that's position supports slavery.
There are mainly 5 reasons why people are atheists. These reasons are: 1.) People think they understand and know everything, and this doesn't include a higher power 2.) People are afraid of "Christian Judgement" 3.) People are turned off from religion/God by a bad experience 4.) It makes people feel big to think we are the most advanced thing in the universe 5.) Some people just want attention and by going against such a popular belief, they get this attention
“They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.” (Ephesians 4:18)
Here are just a few reasons why people believe that God doesn’t exist: It first starts with a hard heart. They have some reason why they don’t want God to exist (whether it be from hypocrites in a church, their preacher gave them a bad explanation of dinosaurs, evolution, ect., they don’t understand why God would allow their child to die, and various other reasons). Then they become ignorant; lose any common sense that would lead them to the conclusion that there is a God. Then their understanding becomes darkened. And many other things follow, like deliberately ignoring the evidence for the existence of God (which I would be happy to share with anyone).
Why? You want one reason that will fit every single atheist in the world? That's like asking 'why do christians believe in god'. Everyone's going to have their psychological breakthroughs, their bumps in the road, their experiences, and not one other person will have the exac same answer
