What could be causing extreme pain in my left foot on the side after standing/walking?

I was diagnosed with flat feet and heel spurs, which I had removed 3 yrs ago along with therapy. Now after standing and walking for long periods of time, which is a requirement at my job, the side of my left foot is extremely painful after sitting and getting back up to walk. I have used all types of shoe inserts and purchased shoes from $24- $150. What could be wrong now? Should I go back to the foot doctor?

Could be anything from Gout to Osteomyelitis. But without an exam by your Doctor we will never know. Impossible to diagnose in this arena!

I think you should see your doctor. Have you ever worn orthopedic shoes that are made just for you? I had to wear them as a child to correct my pigeon toes. Your doctor could write you a prescription that should help you. It would be worth looking into.

I had orthotics molded for my feet a year before and after my heel surgeries but the concrete floors at work makes the pain worse. I never got orthopedic shoes per say, they ordered me some $200 clogs that she said would eliminate swelling, because I could slide my feet in and out of them. I wore them for a week and could'nt stand them. Eventually, after going back and forth with the complaint of my feet still hurting, I was told it was all in my head and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. So, I never went back and I'm still in pain.

Any chance of looking into a different line of work?
