I hate laying in bed all day being bored on my iPod, but I can't get out because I have tubes inside my stomach to feed me and stuff.

I'm SO sick, and had to get my stomach pined! I can't even go to school, so the question is, how can I have fun now! (ps I may need a wheelchair for a while and other stuff once I recover!)

Do you like to read? Even if you don't, why not try it now? You could listen to books on tape also. Do you like to do any kind of arts or craft type things? You might try your hand at sketching? Even if you are not an artist, it is a lot of fun to just see what you can create with pen and paper....which makes me think of writing....Now would be a great time to put your feelings about a lot of things in a journal....or prose or poetry? You never know until you try something if you will like it or be good at it (and you do not have to be good at anything to enjoy doing it, OK?)

I wish I could come up with something different but I do not know your physical limitations so just took a stab at an answer. Like I said, there are lot of things you can do with your hands if you find it enjoyable. Have you ever did any crochet work?

I hope you are better soon. I know that it is no fun to have to lie in bed all the time...was like that for a while myself. I read a lot and did a lot of writing and sketching.

Well since your stuck in bed why not ask someone to get you some books to read?
Or maybe if you don't have a tv in there you can get one temporarily for movies and stuff.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I was laid up. I learned to crochet, read, played video games, did puzzles, watched movies, and talked on the phone a lot! I also wrote letters. Today's email only world makes letters appreciated.

I couldn't be bed-ridden without LOTS of blank paper!!
I'd design a lot...houses, clothing, shopping centers, business ideas, video games, word puzzles and codes. I'd also have to write everyone! staying in touch online is one thing, but old-fashion letters and cards are the best. (think about how excited you are when you get a real piece of mail, not just junk mail)
books are a great standby of course. you may be booked-out, but maybe you can try a style you don't normally go for. it may sound cheesy, but you could gain an appreciation for something you don't typically dabble in, like poetry or comedy, or biographies...anything.

also, whatever is you all-time favorite thing, you can really spend time researching all about it. you could become THE source of knowledge for whatever you are passionate about. or pick a favorite person, maybe even one you don't know about yet...you could learn all about them. for myself, i love history and learning about people who were ahead of their time, or did daring things. like women spies in WWII, or who dressed as soldiers in the Civil War.
I also have a favorite poetry book, and I think a lot of my friends would be surprised to know how much I enjoy it. I always thought my mom was crazy for making us memorize our favorites, but knowing some poems has really come in handy.
What are your interests? maybe I or someone here can steer you toward something specific.

I'm so sorry you have to go thru this! Do you have some friends who'll come visit? Maybe they could bring you some puzzle books if you like that kind of thing. How about trivia?theres this thing called Brain Quest that comes in all grade levels that's kinda fun to do a few years YOUNGER than you are, to see how much you've forgotten! I hope laughing doesn't hurt you too much, cuz you WILL get laughing! How about reading some great books? Catching up on some of the movies you always wanted to see? And you can always chat with us!

I was in the car with my cousin, and a drunk driver hit us, we got lucky though, my cousin wasn't that bad but the driver came in back of us, I got hurt then infection hit, I just hope I don't have to get my leg amputated the doc said I might, but my cousin keeps putting it off! he's like she will heal, but thanks for caring

OMG! The same thing happened to another young Ask user about 3 years ago, she was in a coma, had to learn to walk, talk, eat etc all over again! She's still semi paralyzed! I wish you a full recovery! You know, drunk drivers don't stop doing it & personally, I think we should publicly execute a few of them just to let them know that we're tired of them killing & maiming our kids!

BTW, I do care so, don't just disappear, keep us updated on your progress. Remember losing a leg is better than losing a life! You sue them for everything they own, you'll get it!!!

May I ask your age? You don't have to answer but I'm curious!

I don't think even public execution would change anybody, because alcoholics seem to have no control over their drinking. No second chances... Lock them up and throw away the key! ... Wait... Then we'd have to support them! Nah... Go ahead and kill 'em!

laon....I know it will not help you any now, but I want you to know that my S/O is a retired police officer (also worked EMS) and although saving lives was #1 on his list, a close second was apprehending drunk drivers and seeing them put away for as long as the law allowed. To give you a smile....(and I should not say this but every cop out there knows what I mean..lol) ...these drunk drivers "tend to hit their heads on doors, fall down *accidently*, trip while going down stairs, just have a lot of *littie mishaps* on their way to the jailhouse. I told him about you and he is the one that said to tell you that, and he praying for your recovery as I am.

Please stay here with us on Ask and keep us updated on how you are doing. I am going to "follow you" on here, OK?

Oh, wanted to ask but you do not have to answer...did you contact MRSA?

I'm 13 sorry, I haven't been around for a while, but my cousin keeps putting the amputation off, and it's pointless cuz I'm already paralyzed from half way down my spine
