For all of human history there have been people predicting when the world would end. Strangely it's still here. I think the funny little secret about the Mayans is, they weren't predicting the end of the world, they were just exhausted and took a long break on that calendar making. They didn't expect to disappear from the planet.

There is no specific time on 12-21-2012. It's just the beginning of a new cycle in the opposite pole of the center of the galaxy. As our solar system begins to rapidly reverse poles to line up with the new hemisphere of the "dark rift", things will get worse. It's like sliding a positive charged steel ball up a magnet to the opposing side. The date 12-21-2012 is at the center of the magnet. You know what happens to the ball the closer you get to the top. ( it turn the other way)Think about it. It happens every 26000 years. The ice cores and rock samples prove a magnetic shift every 26000 years. Also there is a decreased fossil record and evidence of cooling and warming every 26000 years. But, don't think about this too hard or it WILL scare you. I hope I'm wrong.
