Why do you have this recurring pattern in religious circles

It's usually that you have one person who is labelled as a bad kid or rebel by the others. Maybe he smokes weed, or sleeps around or steals or maybe he gets into fights with others. Later on the outcast who is shunned by everybody changes and becomes even more righteous than the righteous people who never needed to repent. Jesus selected a zealot which in modern times would be a terrorist, a tax collector and John selected a couple of prostitutes to be their disciples.

Deut: Isn't it great when God changes people? Don't be put off by this so-called pattern. It's God's work. Give Him the glory when you see this happen in people's lives. Then just pray for the next one you meet. Isn't the Lord just wonderful???

Religion dulls what you can do...sometimes people fear that if they are friends with a "bad" person they will go to Hell...once the "Bad" person is shunned, he has no boundaries and limits on him/her and thus, he becomes more righteous... Religion of any kind acts as a "cage" or "net" and holds the person back from finding out and better understanding how the religion works...once liberated from this "cage" the aforementioned coincidence happens.

God knows that that person can be a living testimony of how God changes people. Saul the christian killer became the writer of 13 books in the Bible. My son : the rebel became a pastor. God can use their testimony to lead many to the Lord.
