I've had a painful to the touch lump under my armpit for two days now. If it doesn't disappear soon should I go to the ER or doctor?

(Sometimes hard to get a doctor appt)

Generally you describe your symptoms to an advice nurse, who will know how urgent your problem is.

Emergency room care is extremely expensive.

I am not a doctor or qualified medical professional.

Yes. Definately see your doctor. Try to get an appointment ASAP. If it's especially painful, go to the ER.

There are lymph nodes under your arms that tend to swell when you have an illness that involves infection of one type or another. Not to scare you but, I would be remiss in not telling you that, sometimes sore lymph nodes are a precursor to lymphatic cancer. Either way you need to have the symptoms evaluated by a physician before it gets worse.
