it depends on the questions you ask and if you get the correct answers to your questions and if you actually listen and understand the answer. If not they no you will not get smarter but if everything is right then you should i guess

probably not, but reading some of the replies can help you learn things you didn't know before & if you store that info, it helps you out.

I think asking questions can usually help you get smarter. If you think it through, ask the question, and store the answer...then you become smarter through exercising your brain and getting new data.

It's probably just playing with words, but I think one's "smartness" is connected with their IQ, which doesn't change but so much over a lifetime. However, one's KNOWLEDGE can be greatly increased by asking questions (as long as you listen to the answer). Then as your knowledge increases, hopefully your WISDOM in how to USE the knowledge you have will increase also. (All wisdom comes from God.)

If you make smart questions like... The world changes us or do we change the world.. :p And of course if the answers is smart it helps you a lot. Trying to answer (or ask) such questions help you evolve your way of thinking.. And if you read carefully the answers you try to understand the other's logic you will create your own way of thinking that will be based in a smart progress.

Asking questions shows an interest in learning. Learning something new does not necessarily make you any smarter. It just means that you have acquired new knowledge. How you apply that knowledge is what makes the difference.

The fact that you are willing to ask a question already puts you ahead of the game. Many people are too embarrassed to even get that far and are afraid they will be labeled as dumb. If you are willing to ask, then you are willing to receive the answer. The asking part is the most difficult.

It all depends upon who you are asking.I mean, you could be asking the village idiot and in this case, asking questions will teach you nothing. In any case, asking questions will not teach you more than reading.Because when you read, questions you never thought of asking answer themselves.Be careful that with all the technology, you dont fall into the rut of asking questions that you know in your gut have right and wrong answers,or questions containing material you could look up yourself instead. If you read, you will not have to ask nearly as many questions.

If the questions you ask are decently challenging and you have a fairly good memory you should lean something. I like your profile pic.

Do you remember what it was like when a young child asks questions? Like why is the sky blue? Then asks why is the tea hot? And continues asking till you can't answer anymore? This child is asking them to fill a void, a desire to know things, to understand things around them. If you are lucky, and this desire has not been wrung out of you, then, yes, asking questions will help one grow smarter. But if you are asking questions and not really looking for an answer, then you are wasting both your and those you ask time. You will never become any smarter unless you really are truly searching for the answer.

Definitely, but if the questions are smart. If the questions are non sense they they will prove you dumb.

Yes, because if you don't ask how to do something then how will you learn? I am a straight A student and I rarely go through a class period without asking a question. Questions are just ways to expand your knowledge. (: So don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't know the answer! If you do, then next time you will know!
