Romans 3:10-12

10 As it is written:

?There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.?

Mark 10:18

18 So Jesus said to him, ?Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

Jesus was God in the flesh and he was perfect but the reason Jesus made this statement is because He knew that as long as He was in the flesh that nothing good comes from the flesh. And yes there will be a lot of disappointed people that find out they've been mislead.

so you can be hilter and still go to heaven? Thats the only thing i dont get about Christianity the worst people can got to heaven.

Only if you have Repented of your sins. It's one thing to say your sorry, but if it's just lip service and it doesn't come from Godly Sorrow ( from the heart ) it means nothing. Apostle Paul was a murderer and persecuted God's children ( Christians ) and he truly thought he was doing the Will of God. But when God stuck him down off his high horse and blinded him he Repented and gave his life to Jesus. So the bottom line is no matter what you've done in your life you can be forgiven. But the Word Repent means turn away from you sins. The only unpardonable sin is Blasphemy Of The Holy Spirit which is denying the power there of. Which means denying the Power of God and His plan of Salvation though Jesus Christ.

That's right kiddies- if a serial killer rapist is really sorry, he gets to go to "heaven", while a perfectly good person who happens to be Hindu deserves eternal torment.

Just one of the hundreds of things that makes no sense about Christianity. Not to mention is ethically horrible.

Thats were Islam and Christianity differ in Islam there is responsibilty for your actions
Report as
Well, except for the fact that in Islam you still have the problem of perfectly good, kind people who are punished simply for not believing.
Report as
hey skeptikitten
if a serial killer rapist is truelly sorry for his mistakes, and repents to God and believes that he is a sinner and needs God's help, than yes
it doesn't mean he should be free from jail or anything, but im just saying everyone's made mistakes, big or small. just because someone's mistakes are different from yours doesn't mean that you're right and he's wrong. haven't you done wrong things before? i mean, yes, killing and other things are really bad, but don't you believe in forgiveness? maybe the killer would turn his life around?

eh a part of the religion that i dont believe in :) sometimes i think that religion swallows a personal identity replacing it with singular veiws from a large group that some people take on as poison to their own opnions
Report as
It's sick and sadistic to think that a serial killer gets an eternal reward as long as he's sorry, but that a good person gets eternal torture just for not believing in the right god out of the 2850 man has worshiped over the millenia.

Christianity, specifically Catholicism would still exist, even if all other religions did not, because Catholicism was founded by Christ himself, and since all the other Christian religions either broke off directly from the Catholic Church, or can be traced back to it by proxy, then yes, I think Christianity would still exist. even if all other forms of religion didn't.

Well yes. It's like religion is just a category that it falls under. God would still exist because He was the one who made us. So yes, I believe Christianity would still exist.

Well no. Without religion no one would think about gods angels or demons. It wouldn't matter. We would more focus on survival and our present life. Although we would still probably have laws and morals.

religion ?
re·li·gion [ri-lij-uh?n] Show IPA
noun
1.
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2.
a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.
Report as
Exactly- if it's not a religion let's start taxing these people. Oh, and that means no more exceptions on anti-discrimination and labor laws, either. Or Constitutional protections. After all- no one protects the "freedom of relationships".

Sorry, but you can't just "screw the definition"- words have meaning and you can't just change them to suit your own convenience.

Yes, because christianity is a relationship with God through Christ, and what we call religion, seems to be man-made or legalistic.

Christianity exists because of Jesus Christ, who rejected religion to the extent it was false or hypocritical or dangerous or misleading. Christianity stands on its own and in sharp contrast to what most define as 'religion'. So one better define it first. Religion has been defined simply as man's effort to reach God or gods. It typically involves some ritual, some rules, etc.

Christianity has been defined simply as God's effort to reach man. It is in sharp contrast in other ways, in that it is based on God's grace, God's effort and is essentially a relationship of trusting what He has already done.

The fact that some have tacked on their own religious rituals and rules can certainly be confusing and even distasteful and ugly. That does not change the essence of it as taught by Jesus Christ, and still practiced by some.

There will not be religion or denominations in heaven.

absolutely, I am a Christian, but hardly tell people because I am not religious, I am spiritual. Christianity scares people away because of all the sin over the centuries it has produced. I would never deny Christ for he is everything to me. He saved me from my old corrupted self. People always learn that Christ & God are a part of me, just by knowing me. I speak of them daily to all I know.

Yes, Religion is the practice of faith; that is, religion is the external or ceremonial observance of a set of beliefs. Technically, there is a difference between faith (the internal attitude) and religion (the external works)"Christian religion" is broadly defined as "the faithful observance of the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles."

Definitely. A Christian is just a person that has a relationship with God through His son, Jesus. Also they have faith in that being true. I know this for more than one reason. I am a Christian, and I know a whole bunch of other Christians.
