Well, if you're in doubt, just have Christmas early this year!! If the world ends, at least you got to open your presents. If the world doesn't end, it will make a great story to tell for the rest of your life!

That's what I always say. Doesn't somebody think that the Mayans just got tired of making all those calenders and just decided to call it quits? Besides, there is literally no scientific evidence to support that the world will end that day.

Stop worrying that the world will end on 12-21-2012. That's a movie. Wht happens in movies cant happen in real life.

If you think about it when the Mayans made the calendar they didn't have leap year or any of the stuff so in that case the world was suppose to end like 7 months ago. So keep living on your lives with no worries it's not going to happen!(:

Complete rubbish, my friend. The Mayans never took into account leap years. According to their own perceived downfall, the world should have ended at leat a year ago. What a surprise that some hoodoo rubbish from thousands of years ago is just hoodoo rubbish...

Hey! It's a totally legit term. ;) I was sure nobody was actually dumb enough to believe some ancient, apocalyptic prophecy, but then again, I thought nobody was dumb enough to consider Fox News as actual news... Then I find out it's the most viewed news channel in the US. ;)

Will the world end in the year 2012? The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012. Did the Mayans know something we don’t know? The rumors began. ‘Planet X’ was rumored to collide with the earth sometime in 2012. It was said that a planetary alignment will pull the earth out of orbit in 2012. The rumors gathered momentum. Movies and books exposed us to the idea of 2012, end of the world, a polar shift and an increase in natural disasters. Are these catastrophic theories all hype, or is there something to it?

Bible Disasters

The prophecies of the Bible never fail. And the Bible does predict disasters, such as a time, just before the Second Coming of Christ, when the waves will roar and the sun will heat the earth and scorch mankind. The Bible also says, for example, that the heaven will be rolled up like a scroll and every mountain and island will be moved.----

The Bible is replete with examples of current events that fulfill prophecies that place this generation in the last days of human government on earth. Consider the rebirth of Israel, as prophesied in the book of Ezekiel. The creation of a world government (United Nations) is described in Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. An account of the rebirth of the Holy Roman Empire (European Union) is given in Daniel, chapter 2. The Mark of the Beast of Revelation 13, without which no one will be able to buy or sell, has not been possible until now, with the invention of the computer, the birth of the Internet, and the use of credit cards.

First of all, we know from the Bible, that the world is not going to end in 2012, because the Bible says very clearly, in Revelation 20, that there is yet another one thousand years of human existence upon the earth. But, does the Bible have anything else to say about 2012?

I was worried I wouldn’t be able to post this, because according to some Christians and false prophets (read Christian prophets), the world was going to end on May 22, 2012. Luckily, the world didn’t end. The world should have ended on May 21, 2011, or May 21, 1988 or September 6, 1994.Give or take a few days. But the world didn’t end. So, is the world going to end in 2012 – perhaps at a later date? Watch out for more predictions. All of these end of the world prophets claimed that their date of choice for the end of the world was based on the Bible. If you think that these Christians are crazy, you are not wrong.

Equally crazy is some non-Christians about the end of the world. The only difference is, instead of the Bible, they use the so-called Mayan Calendar for their calculations. Is the world going to end in 2012 according to the Mayan Calendar? If what I read in the media is correct, the world is going to end on 22 December 2012. Another way to interpret this is, the end of the world is postponed for another seven months. I don’t know much about the Mayan calendar. So, I leave it aside and focus on the so-called Biblical calculations about the end of the world.

According to the Bible, is the world going to end in 2012? NO. Does the Bible give any specific dates about the end of the world? NO. I am going to be reasonable here. There is another side to the first question. You may ask, “Does the Bible say that the world is NOT going to end in 2012?” NO. And there lies the problem. In my view, this uncertainty is the driving force for these false prophets to make these kinds of predictions about the end of the world. In the process, they bring in a bad publicity to Christianity and to the Bible.

If the world was really supposed to end, it would have ended a long time ago then. All the leap year days added up, and it would already be 2014, so no, it's most likely not going to end.
