Im looking to adopt another dog. And I need help choosing a breed. I want a large dog that has short hair and a loving calm attitude. Ideas?

I have a pitbull-boxer mix puppy right now who has a bit of energy and I would like a larger calmer breed to maybe even out the hyper and play with him once in a while

I'm so sorry. You won't be able to find that dog because she is my dog. She is referred to as a sheppard mix. She is THE VERY BEST dog Ever!!!! She's 65 pounds and the best house dog you can imagine. So as I said, I'm sorry but shes already taken.
Seriously, I'm so glad you are looking to adopt. So many people want to "buy" a dog and that just helps over breeders and puppy mills to exist.

I have never bought a dog in my life they have all been adopted lol I dont see why people feel the need to pay double just so they can say the dogs parents were show champs and that its a pure blood. So many issues happen in puppy mills I dont see the need to encourage them to do horrible things to make a few bucks. My friend has a shepherd and hes the goofies playful old man I've ever met :)

You can actually any dog as a puppy and always play with it, than as the puppy grows, than it becomes playful and un-harmful if you know what I mean. So I guess get any breed you want as a puppy and raise it to be playful and lovable

My last dog was a lab golden mix. She was amazing. I kinda want to stay away from those breeds for a while because they remind me of her and its sad. But thank you very much for your oppinion :)

I live in a city with a LOT of squirrels and bunnies I'm scared the dogs instincts would kick in, especially if it was an ex race dog, and I'd never see it again. but I do love them the are pretty

Most reputable breed rescues foster their dogs and can help you select a dog that matches the energy level you want.

Greatdane! Easy to train does not need a lot of space believe it or not. Extremely devoted. Downside is they don't live long. Non of the giant breeds do.
